Falling Beneath

It’s so easy to slip
Beneath and not know
Millions of minds clamor above.
It’s so easy to slip,
Fall and spill
Into fissures,
Into illusions,
My world.
I “Press” my words,
Sing my “Tweets”
Alone,
For the millions produce infinities
And sounds swallow sounds.

When illusions fade . . .
It’s so easy to slip
Crawl beneath and stay,
Where I rest far from shallow.

Deep in fissures
I sing
Alone,
Where my heart rests hallow.
